Training for Safety

Safety on the job site starts long before you ever set foot on the location. That’s why we have a dedicated Safety Director and Safety Coordinator on staff. They make sure every single person we hire is set up for success. Our new hires must complete Personal Safety Training for trenching, excavation, and commercial roofing before they are allowed to be a part of a job.

We also offer annual training programs that cover everything we do on a job site. They include OSHA 10- and 30-hour training and First Aid & CPR training. We also train our employees for the specific positions they may have on the ground, including Work Zone Traffic Control training, Confined Space Entry training, Rigger and Signalman training, Aerial Lift Training, and Forklift Training.

Not only do we require initial training, but we also offer recertification yearly, so our workers are always up to date on the current safety practices.

Safety on Site

Our safety standards don’t stop with training. It is also essential to maintain active safety practices while on the job site. This is why we begin every workday with a job site safety meeting. These meetings let us review the work plan for the day and what safety measures are being taken for each task. These daily meetings allow us to make sure all of our employees are on the same page and that everyone leaves the site injury-free at the end of the day. We also have weekly jobsite safety inspections where one of our safety experts reviews the site and makes any needed adjustments.

Reviewing Safety

Just like we want to be on the cutting edge when it comes to technology and construction practices, at ABR Construction, we are also on the cutting edge of safety. We review our programs and performance on an annual basis. This allows us to see areas that need improvement or where additional training might be required.
